It depends on what kind of parents you have. For instance my mom has depression and anxiety , and it's clear I have anxiety but it doesn't bother me too much and I don't mind not taking medicine for it. I also have depression and suicidal thoughts, if I told my mom she'd force me to take pills and she'd be controlling about it (I'm not exaggerating I swear) I've hinted therapy to my stepmom and dad, but they say I'm just "trying to be like my friends" (I have a few friends being treated) or that I'm trying to be "cool" . I'm also sure that my stepmom would use that against me because she's a sociopath. And all 3 of them get kinda rude/ not understanding when I seem unhappy. So they really shouldn't wonder why things like my grades are so low, and why I'm not doing my work when in all honesty I see life as near meaningless and every week feels like it's stuck on repeat. And for the longest time my family has taught that it's not okay to be this way (or in their eyes weak). My family would just get angry at me. (Sorry for rant) 😧😒
